This 4-day journey offers an immersive introduction to the heart of the Inca civilization. Beginning in Cusco, travelers explore the city’s rich blend of Inca and Spanish heritage and visit the most important nearby archaeological sites. The tour continues through the Sacred Valley, highlighting traditional towns, local markets, and impressive Inca engineering in Pisac and Ollantaytambo.

The highlight of the trip is a guided visit to Machu Picchu, the legendary Lost City of the Incas, set amid breathtaking mountain and jungle scenery. The experience concludes with a comfortable return to Cusco and departure, combining cultural discovery, history, and natural beauty in a well-paced itinerary.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: City Tour and 4 Inca Ruins

Upon arrival at the airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to the hotel, including check-in procedures. The rest of the morning is at leisure to rest and gradually acclimatize to the altitude.

In the afternoon, we will pick you up from your hotel at 1:00 p.m. to begin exploring this fascinating city, where Inca and Spanish cultures blend beautifully.

We will first visit Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), the most important Inca temple in the region, later incorporated into the Santo Domingo Convent. Then, we will continue to the impressive Cusco Cathedral, located in the Main Square.

Afterward, we will travel by tourist bus to explore the nearby archaeological sites: Tambomachay (Temple of Water), Puca Pucara (Red Fortress), Qenqo (Temple of Mother Earth), and the majestic fortress of Sacsayhuamán, often referred to as the Royal House of the Sun. We will also visit a local farm where you can see and learn about llamas and alpacas.

Day 2: Sacred Valley – Pisac – Ollantaytambo

Pickup from your hotel at 08:00 am and drive east of Cusco for approximately one hour, enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. We will make a stop at a scenic lookout point overlooking the Sacred Valley of the Incas before continuing to the archaeological site of Pisac.

At Pisac, you will explore the impressive Inca ruins, known for their agricultural terraces, ceremonial areas, and stunning panoramic views of the valley. After the guided visit, we will head to the colonial town of Pisac, where you will have free time to explore the traditional market and browse local handicrafts.

We will then meet for lunch at a local Andean restaurant.

In the afternoon, we continue driving through the Sacred Valley towards Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, we will visit this remarkable Inca archaeological site, where you will admire the extraordinary stonework and massive blocks weighing up to 80 tons.

Day 3: Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Breakfast at your hotel. Early in the morning, you will board the train for a scenic journey through the Sacred Valley to the legendary “Lost City of the Incas,” Machu Picchu, located 112 km northwest of Cusco at over 2,400 meters (7,870 ft) above sea level. Hidden by towering mountains and semi-tropical jungle for nearly 400 years, the site was brought to international attention by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911.

Upon arrival, you will enjoy a guided tour of approximately 3 hours, during which your guide will explain the history, architecture, and mysteries of this extraordinary Inca citadel. After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore the ruins at your own pace. If you wish, you may climb Huayna Picchu (advance booking required) for breathtaking panoramic views of Machu Picchu and the surrounding mountains.

After your visit, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town for lunch. In the afternoon, you may choose to relax in the natural hot springs before boarding the train back to Cusco. Upon arrival, our staff will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 4: Cusco – Home

Once sent, you are registered to pay a booking deposit of US$ 300 + 6% per person. Once we receive your payment, we will confirm the tour by email and send you the rest of the details.

Terms & Conditions

1. If you suffer from vertigo or prefer not to climb Huayna Picchu, please indicate NO on your booking form and note this clearly in the comments section. Entrance tickets to Machu Picchu Mountain or Huayna Picchu Mountain must be reserved 4–5 months in advance, as availability is limited and permits sell out quickly.

2. You must carry your original passport (the same one used for booking) and a valid student card if applicable.

3. Students are eligible for a US$ 20 discount. Please note that the acceptance and validation of student cards are strictly regulated by the park authorities.

4. The included accommodation in Aguas Calientes is a 3-star hotel. Alternative hotels or upgraded accommodations are available at an additional cost (based on double occupancy). Please request any upgrades at the time of booking.

5. Changes of travel dates are only possible if the minimum group size is maintained and train tickets and Machu Picchu entrance tickets have not yet been issued. An administrative fee of US$ 25.00 will apply.

6. If train tickets have already been issued, date changes will incur an additional fee charged by Peru Rail (US$ 20.00 per ticket). In some cases, a change of date may require an upgrade to a higher train category, with the corresponding fare difference payable by the client.

7. We take all reasonable care in providing our services to minimize the risk of accidents, illness, or loss of personal property and employ only qualified staff. We accept responsibility for the actions of our employees; however, we cannot be held liable for unavoidable events or for the acts of clients or third parties. Clients are fully responsible for their personal belongings and any rented equipment.

8. Our company is not responsible for additional costs arising from unfavorable weather conditions, natural disasters, strikes, accidents, illness, injury, or loss of personal items. We strongly recommend that all clients obtain comprehensive travel insurance. We reserve the right to modify or cancel the program due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

  • A. Cancellation after deposit payment and confirmation results in the loss of the US$ 200.00 booking deposit (non-refundable).
  • B. Cancellation within 45 to 31 days before departure: loss of 70% of total tour cost.
  • C. Cancellation within 30 to 8 days before departure: loss of 80% of total tour cost.
  • D. Cancellation within 7 days to 48 hours before departure: loss of 90% of total tour cost.
  • E. Cancellation within 48 hours of departure: loss of total tour cost.
