Itinerary

Detailed Itinerary

The tour begins with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 8:00 am. From the historic center we travel to the nearby archaeological sites located in the hills surrounding the city.

Sacsayhuaman – The Royal House of the Sun

The first stop is the impressive fortress of Sacsayhuaman, one of the most iconic Inca structures. This massive complex is famous for its enormous stone walls constructed with stones weighing several tons, perfectly fitted together without mortar.

Sacsayhuaman was both a ceremonial and defensive structure and played an important role in protecting the city of Cusco.

Qenqo – Ceremonial Center

Next we visit Qenqo, a mysterious ceremonial site believed to have been used for rituals dedicated to Pachamama (Mother Earth). The site features carved rock formations, underground passages, and an altar believed to have been used for religious ceremonies.

Puka Pukara – The Red Fortress

The tour continues to Puka Pukara, which means “Red Fortress” in the Quechua language. This small military complex likely served as a strategic checkpoint controlling access to the city of Cusco.

From this location visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding Andean landscape.

Tambomachay – Temple of Water

Our next stop is Tambomachay, often called the “Baths of the Inca.” This site is famous for its perfectly designed water channels and fountains that still flow today.

The site is believed to have been associated with water worship and possibly served as a place for ritual purification.

Pisac – Archaeological Site

After visiting the Cusco ruins, we continue toward the Sacred Valley to reach the impressive Pisac archaeological complex.

Located high on a mountain overlooking the valley, Pisac features spectacular agricultural terraces, temples, ceremonial plazas, and ancient Inca pathways.

The site offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of the Sacred Valley and provides insight into the agricultural and religious practices of the Incas.

After exploring Pisac, we return comfortably to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 5:00 pm.
