Detailed Itinerary:

We start the day with an early pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 4:30 am. From there, we travel south of the city through beautiful Andean landscapes, passing traditional villages and scenic mountain roads.

Breakfast in Cusipata

On the way, we stop for breakfast at a local restaurant in the town of Cusipata. This break is a great opportunity to energize before continuing toward the trailhead.

Journey to Waqrapukara

After breakfast, we continue our drive toward the Waqrapukara archaeological complex, located in a remote and spectacular mountain area. Along the route, you will enjoy stunning views of the Andean scenery and the dramatic Apurimac Valley.

We arrive at the trailhead at approximately 8:30 am, where we prepare for the hike. The walk to Waqrapukara is considered moderate and is suitable for travelers with a reasonable level of fitness and proper acclimatization.

Hike to Waqrapukara

The hike takes around two hours and follows Andean trails with a gradual ascent. Along the way, you will be surrounded by mountain landscapes, deep canyons, and the peaceful atmosphere that makes this route so special.

Exploring the Archaeological Site

Upon arrival at Waqrapukara, you will enjoy a guided visit through the archaeological complex. Your guide will explain the history of the site, its architecture, and its importance during the Inca period.
